Description We are looking for a diligent and focused Buyer for our operations in Vernon Hills, Illinois. This role involves the strategic development and execution of purchasing strategies, maintaining the accuracy of part data, and building lasting relationships with suppliers. It offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead purchasing strategies with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Source and purchase essential materials to support ongoing operations.

• Create, review, process, and reconcile purchase orders to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Maintain up-to-date part data and planning parameters in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Epicor.

• Evaluate suppliers based on purchasing standards, including quality, price, reliability, technical support, and availability of goods and services.

• Analyze quotations to ensure all criteria are met before making purchasing decisions.

• Negotiate pricing and delivery times effectively to meet business requirements.

• Monitor inventory to determine supply needs and develop inventory controls for new materials.

• Build and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure a steady supply of essential materials.

• Solve complex purchasing issues relating to Accounting and Receiving departments.

• Evaluate and continuously improve the effectiveness of our purchasing strategies to reduce expenses. Requirements • Must have detail oriented experience as a Buyer in a relevant industry.

• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Epicor is required.

• Familiarity with ERP solutions such as 'About Time' is preferred.

• A strong understanding of accounting functions and Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary.

• Comprehensive knowledge of buying processes is essential.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must.

• Prior experience as a Chef would be advantageous.

• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.

• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a strong work ethic.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Solid understanding of market trends and product availability.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
