Maintenance Tech II- Facility/ Ice Rink
GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs various supervisory and journey-level duties as needed and participates in the day-to-day maintenance and operations of the Western Park Ice Rink & WP complex.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under the general supervision of the Western Park Manager, Assistant Manager, and Ice Rink Supervisor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED Provides close to general supervision to entry-level employees, crews, and program workers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensures timely maintenance in preparation and anticipation of various scheduled events. Coordinate with the office staff and various community groups to ensure that all detailed event specifications are provided for the customer.
Maintains WP equipment maintenance log for future service needs. Monitors maintenance and custodial supplies and apprises supervisor of needed inventory materials, equipment, chemicals, and related products.
Performs ongoing maintenance and cleaning; completes daily work projects related to custodial cleaning schedules, heating, air conditioning, etc.; ensures proper deodorizing and sanitizing of public areas of the buildings, etc.; ensures proper kitchen maintenance including, tables, chairs, etc.: performs general set up for convention events.
Performs environmental maintenance and upkeep; assists in landscaping operations related to planting and grooming of lawns, planting beds, trees, and shrubbery; participates in installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems, timers, etc.; participates in the application of fertilizers and pesticides; operates ATV with mounted spraying equipment to perform weed control spraying.
Supports in the facility sound systems and AV; when necessary will ensure proper operation of sound equipment including microphones, cords, amplifiers, wireless components, and filtering equipment:
Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school; plus, specialized training provided through trade or technical school related to the maintenance and construction fields, facilities management, and construction management and four years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance requirements in plumbing, electrical wiring, painting, and other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of plumbing methods and practices, OSHA and ADA facilities maintenance, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical equipment and the use of power and hand tools.
Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls.
