Summary

We're looking for a technical expert specializing in Windows & SVS (Virtualization and Storage Systems) server technologies. As a member of our team of specialists, you will need to understand the different environments of Bell Canada and its customers. Your responsibilities will include supporting our customers' server infrastructure, taking an active part in maintaining security, continuous improvement, automation, and infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a fleet of virtualized Windows servers: troubleshooting, proactive management, security management, backups, operation, and optimization.

  • Help support virtualization environments, including VMware products and backup/storage components.

  • Plan and implement operating system changes, software updates and upgrades to new versions and required security patches.

  • Aid on projects involving new server deployments using departmental standards and practices.

  • Understand system performance metrics/reports and maintain system security, capacity, and performance (compliance; security patches, etc.).

  • Review and interpret alarms and propose necessary corrective actions, incident management and analysis (in line with industry and contractual requirements) to satisfy our customers.

  • Be proactive in continuous improvement and actively participate in automating recurring tasks.

  • Produce and regularly review documentation for systems under his/her control.

  • Work in compliance with ITIL standards.

  • Support a 24/7 environment with on-call rotation. Ability to work outside office hours according to customer needs (deployments, incident management).

Critical Qualifications

  • University degree in computer science (BAC) or equivalent,

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in systems administration in a production environment,

  • Solid experience with Microsoft Active Directory, GPO, DNS,

  • Solid experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and higher,

  • Experience with security principles (hardening) and vulnerability management,

  • Programming experience (PowerShell),

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, Windows clusters, NetBackup, Avamar, are assets.

  • Experience with VMWare is an asset,

  • Experience in SAN/NAS storage management is an asset,

  • Knowledge of Linux (Red Hat) is an asset.

  • Knowledge of general networking and firewall concepts is a must,

  • Knowledge of SharePoint is an asset,

  • Knowledge of HP servers and storage is an asset,

  • Familiarity with Agile and ITIL principles,

  • Knowledge of Ivanti LEMSS, Trellix EPO, CA-UIM is an asset,

  • Excellent analytical skills,

  • A person willing to go the extra mile to satisfy our customers,

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills,

  • Bilingualism (French and English). Fluent French is required .
