As the Medical Commercial Operations Manager in Europe, you will be the crucial point person between the commercial EMEA business and the Supply team. You will provide clear, consistent communication regarding current backorder and supply issues while setting expectations about what customers and sales reps can expect regarding future product availability. You will work alongside the EMEA Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team as well as the US IBP team to understand the most effective way to collect, review, and report out information about any gaps that may exist between supply and demand. You will create and improve standardized processes to continually reduce the time and effort needed to provide visibility to product supply. You will gather feedback, questions, and needs from the commercial team and serve as the spokesperson for sales and marketing to ensure needs are met in a timely manner and product is allocated to customers in a manner that minimizes disruption and maximizes business impact.

Is this you?

You have Experience You have at least 8 years of professional work experience and at least 3-4 years in a production, supply, or demand role (or equivalent) where knowledge is demonstrated, and experience gained in supply chain processes. Experience in Supply Chain or Planning Management is preferred. Excellent knowledge of MS Excel required.

You have a bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or an Engineering related field.

You Know what you are Doing It is preferred that you will have in depth knowledge of demand management/sales forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing, and supply chain issues. Experience in the medical device industry is preferred.

What will you do at Stryker?

  • Develop relationships with key Managers and Directors in both the Medical EMEA Commercial Team as well as the IBP (Integrated Business Planning) teams in the EU and the US.

  • Responsible for the creation of improved processes to gain better visibility on supply/demand gaps that may result in backorder and/or customer impact.

  • Partner with the Supply Planning and IBP management on a regular basis to gain insights into current and potential challenges to meet demand.

  • Gather requests, needs, and questions from sales and marketing teams within the Medical EMEA Division to prioritize supply/demand gaps.

  • Coordinate the specific EU allocation process within Commercial for products on global allocation. Work with EU Supply Planning Team to ensure seamless execution.

  • Monitor ordering trends of Key Accounts and work to optimize service levels and role of product supply in critical customer relationships.

  • Responsible for supply and inventory strategy for new product launches in Europe. Coordinate ramp-up timings and quantities.

  • Troubleshoot and recommend solutions to release “orders on hold”.

  • Assess product portfolio to identify standard configurations for reduced order management complexity and shorter lead times.

  • Assess inventory levels across product lines and regional warehouses to ensure adequate safety stock and identify any areas where adjustments may be needed outside of the standard safety stock calculations.

  • Responsible for product obsolescence strategy and execution as part of the Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) process in EMEA.

  • Proactively identify potential issues that could cause disruption to product supply and partner with the IBP team to understand root causes and put stopgaps in place.

  • Communicate backorder and supply updates to Medical EMEA commercial management on a frequent basis.

  • Raise attention to and coordinate resources to address critical gaps in the supply chain that are causing disruptions for sales reps and customers.

  • Assess distributor inventory management and work to improve processes to improve predictability and customer service levels.
