Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Sales Representative to drive our sales and marketing efforts for ready mix concrete in the bustling Greater Portland-Vancouver area. A successful candidate will provide technical expertise to our customers, grow, and solidify our customer base and create relationships. This role is based in Vancouver, WA with travel to sites as required and reports directly to the Area Sales Manager.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the construction market. Build and maintain relationships with customers.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and providing product information.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through timely resolution of issues and concerns.

  • Educate customers on product features, specifications, digital advancements, and advantages over competitors.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure orders are processed and delivered according to customer requirements.

  • Take our existing customer relationships and elevate them, while also setting your sights on new business growth within each segment.

  • Prepare quotations that meet customer requirements.

  • Gather intelligence and identify lucrative project opportunities.

  • Join the brainstorming sessions and help us develop marketing plans, sales targets, and pricing strategies.

  • Use your technical skills and guide customers in the application of our products.

  • Resolve customer issues and maintaining high satisfaction levels.

  • Be our ambassador in the business community and industry associations, showing them why we're the ones to watch.

  • Contribute to our team culture by actively engaging in team meetings that fuel collaboration and team success.

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required.

  • A post-secondary degree preferred.

  • Proven track record with at least 3-5 years of high-energy, successful sales and marketing experience.

  • Technical proficiency to understand and explain product specifications and applications.

  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, , including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent time management and critical thinking.

Conditions of Employment:

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • This role operates primarily in an office environment, however, may conduct business at manufacturing/construction locations where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, dust, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.

  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment and computer systems; visual acuity required to read, verify, and enter various data from documents related to the work.

  • Travel within the greater Portland/Vancouver (Oregon & Washington State)

  • Have a valid State Driver’s license with a clean and insurable driving record and be capable of maintaining a clean and insurable driving record.
