Hourly Rate: $34.63 - $39.72

Position Summary:

Full time Registered Nurse position available for our Behavioral Health Program in Vancouver, WA. This position is part of the specialized community-based team, Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT), that serves clients in the Clark County area.  

The RN is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments; assessing physical health needs; 

making appropriate referrals to community physicians; coordinating communication regarding individuals’ 

psychiatric and physical health needs; providing management and administration of medication in 

conjunction with the psychiatrist; and providing a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services.

The RN works collaboratively with all other healthcare team members to provide the best outcomes for clients and the organization. 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Participates in ongoing psychosocial assessment of the goals and needs of the patient. When 

providing direct treatment, assists in development and implementation of a multidisciplinary brief 

crisis plan in collaboration with patient and family, outpatient clinicians, program team and others 

at the patient’s request.

  • Under direction of Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor and NP Psychiatry Director, develops, 

revises, maintains, and supervises team psychopharmacologic and medical assessments, including transcribing, evaluating, and recording psychotropic and physical health medications, including adherence and response to those prescribed to service recipients. 

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the  patients served. 

  • Able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for 

infant, adolescent, or geriatric patients.

  • Leads, collects, and performs Clinical Quality Measures for every patient at an average of eight (8) visits per day. This includes individuals seen in the clinic as well as outreach to individuals in  community based settings

  • Manages nurse visit encounters. These could include fast-track immunizations, annual employee

screenings, immigration follow ups, blood pressure checks, diabetic checks, non-stress test for 

OB patients, pregnancy confirmations, Depo-Provera injections and others, if the RN is asked to 

work a shift in a primary care setting.

  • Must be able to perform special procedures such as obtaining IV access for adults, blood draws,

and pediatric and adult urinary catheterization. Also, administers IM, SubQ, and intradermal

injections, rectal, oral, and inhaled medications as ordered by the provider and/or using standing

orders.

  • Facilitates emergency referrals according to the utilization management guidelines when

the referral coordinator is unavailable.

  • Coordinates transfer of acute patients when ordered by provider to the appropriate facility

e.g. emergency room.

  • Responsible for the efficient and organized coordination of personnel in the case of an emergency, i.e., a code.

Qualifications:

  • RN I must have graduated from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree. RN or equivalent is required.

  • RN II must have graduated from an accredited college or university with a Master's or Bachelor's degree. RN, BSN, or equivalent is required.

  • Must be licensed in the State of Washington to practice as a registered nurse.

  • Must have at least one year of work experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric setting.

  • Must obtain a CPR certificate within 90 days of hire date an maintain certificate throughout employment.

  • Must attain the state mandated HIV education.
