Summary: JH Kelly has grown into one of the largest industrial mechanical contractors in the Pacific Northwest and w e are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in Vancouver, WA. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in project engineering, with a focus on mechanical systems, preferably semiconductor projects. As a Mechanical Project Engineer at JH Kelly, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn, follow, and promote Company safety and quality protocols

  • Lead and manage mechanical projects, from initial concept and design through construction and commissioning, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and review mechanical design concepts, calculations, and drawings. Ensure designs meet industry standards and client requirements.

  • Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment required for projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.

  • Implement and maintain quality control and assurance processes to ensure that projects meet or exceed established quality standards.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal discipline leads to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and delays.

  • Ensure that all project activities adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety within the project team.

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

    Relationships:

  • Maintain proactive and positive relationships within the crafts: Including shop and field craft personnel; and supervision coworkers

  • Maintain proactive and positive relationships with customer representatives, vendors, suppliers and subcontractors, safety, CAD/BIM, accounting, and IT and all Project Teams

    Experience / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in project engineering, with a focus on industrial, mechanical, medical, and semiconductor projects.

  • Knowledge of model-based design.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.

  • Understanding of industry-specific regulations and standards.

  • Interface or management of subcontractors.

  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.

    Necessary Skills:

  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam, with intermediate skills in Excel.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter, motivated, and takes initiative.

  • Organized and productive with the ability to prioritize workload.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and projects at hand.

  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Compensation: $30-$42 per hour (DOE), FLSA non-exempt (OT eligible).
