Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager

Job Description

Seeking a dynamic Electrical Engineering Manager to lead and expand a skilled team focused on electrical design and industrial controls. This role involves managing a team of 2 controls engineers, 1 electrical engineer, and 1 drafter, with the potential for team growth. The successful candidate will oversee the design of electrical controls and power systems, ensure compliance with standards, manage project timelines, and occasionally meet with customers to define project requirements. The role requires a combination of office work and hands-on involvement in a manufacturing setting.

They will be responsible for scheduling jobs and in some cases helping qualify the customer needs (sometimes need someone to get in their car and drive an hour to meet the customer and get the requirements in person, not requested often but sometimes it is just easier). They will be overseeing the design of the electrical controls and power systems and will make sure the work is up to compliance code and standards. They will manage the timelines and support the installation management / timelines for any new systems or start up systems. They may be required to talk with customers over the phone and provide some troubleshooting that way.

They are open to someone who has experience managing a few people and projects timelines that maybe not have had a manager title yet. Open to seeing someone who has maybe one direct report but has managed a few projects from start to finish

Hard Skills

  • PLC programming experience, particularly with AB

  • Experience with ladder logic and AutoCAD Electrical

  • Understanding of industrial controls and large equipment

  • Project management and oversight skills

Soft Skills

  • Experience managing small teams and project timelines

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members

  • Flexibility to meet with customers off-site as needed

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Vancouver, Washington.

Work Environment

The work environment includes both office settings and hands-on work in a manufacturing environment related to wood-fired energy systems and lumber dry kilns. Candidates should be prepared to engage directly with project elements and occasionally get 'dirty' while fulfilling managerial and communicative roles.
