WSP USA Project Engineering EIT in Vancouver, British Columbia

The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a Project Engineering EIT to join our Construction Engineering practice, located in the Vancouver area. Reporting to the Senior Principal Construction Engineer, this position will be immersed in many facets of construction engineering, design and specification development, and working with a team of professionals developing projects – while learning contract administration and all about contracting along the way.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Actively participate on small to large design projects related to construction, infrastructure, buildings, mining, etc. in a team environment;

  • Work as part of a client facing team, successfully delivering engineering value to client;

  • Prepare preliminary and detailed engineering plans for a diverse type of projects;

  • Utilize modelling software to support analysis and design of water resources projects;

  • Working with the team on preparing cost estimates and quantity take-offs for diverse project types;

  • Prepare tender documents and specifications for all different types of projects;

  • Perform calculations and technical assessments;

  • Prepare reports and other project related documentation;

  • Prepare presentation materials and develop proposals and related strategies;

  • Working with the Field Construction Team, perform site construction review duties on projects as assigned;

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to WSP:

  • Undergraduate Degree in a Civil Engineering program from an accredited university;

  • Applicants must be eligible for registration with the provincial engineering association;

  • Minimum 1 - 4 years of industry related experience

  • Experience with Microsoft products is required;

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is an asset;

  • Interest or experience in construction is an asset;

  • Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and presentation skills;

  • Great communication skills, both verbally and written;

  • Willingness to travel and work on remote sites;

  • Desire to take on new challenges; and

  • A valid Driver’s license is required.

Salary Range (in British Columbia): $60,000 - $82,600

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
