Job Title: Mechanical Drafter

Job Description

We're looking for a drafter experienced in manufacturing to join our team. The role involves processing orders, interpreting customer specifications, and preparing drawings, with occasional customer interaction. Collaboration across departments is crucial to maintain quality and meet objectives. The Drafter identifies issues in customer information and suggests improvements to procedures and designs, ensuring compliance with company standards. They also review internal documents for accuracy and may release projects under supervision, while having authority to make decisions within established guidelines, escalating issues as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Process orders and interpret customer specifications.

  • Prepare detailed drawings for manufacturing.

  • Collaborate with various departments to maintain quality and meet objectives.

  • Identify issues in customer information and suggest improvements to procedures and designs.

  • Ensure compliance with company standards.

  • Review internal documents for accuracy.

  • Release projects under supervision, making decisions within established guidelines.

  • Escalate issues as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.

  • Experience with mechanical design and drafting.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and documentation.

  • Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Experience with sheet metal and 3D modeling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in drafting/design.

  • High character and a go-getter attitude.

  • Ability to work independently.

Work Environment

The role requires onsite presence for the first 6-8 months to ensure proficiency. Once proficiency is demonstrated, the position transitions to a hybrid model with 2-3 days a week working from home, based on individual preference.
