Blythedale Children's Hospital Physical Therapist in Valhalla, New York

Job Specifications:

Baccalaureate Degree, Master of Science Degree or a Doctor in Physical Therapy from an accredited Physical Therapy Program. Current New York State license or eligibility for licensure is required.

Experience

Pediatric experience preferred. Will consider new graduate. Physical Demands/Working Conditions

. Requires the ability to lift, carry and balance patients from light to heavy weight and the need to visually and auditorily monitor patients' status. Requires an ability to effectively, communicate verbally in writing, in the English language. Use of a computer is essential. . Blood Exposure Rise/OSHA Classification It is the policy of Blythedale Children's Hospital to comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (O.S.H.A) Standards concerning Occupational Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens. Refer to Hospital exposure Control Plan located in the Quality Management office for Hospital procedures and definition of class.

Essential Responsibilities

. Demonstrates knowledge, competence and skill in pediatric physical therapy evaluation including areas of mobility, postural control, muscle strength, muscle tone, sensory, lower extremity spliniting, gross motor and gait analysis. . Demonstrates ability to set realistic goals, methods and techniques reflecting PT theory to establish appropriate treatment programs. . Continuously reviews therapist-patient relationships, procedures, and progress to ensure a high standard of treatment. . Maintains caseload of 45 units and productivity of 9-10 units/day with flexibility to modify based upon hospital and department need. . Consistently meets and actively participates in clinical supervision for case management including documentation review, co-treatment, and collaborative problem-solving. Receives and provides feedback professionally. . Effectively participates in training and supervision of therapy aides. . Effectively participates in training and supervision of senior PT students and volunteers. Demonstrates competency in Meditech Electronic Medical Record system and documentation in the EMR is timely and appropriate. . Demonstrates clinical competency and skill in pediatric physical therapy assessment and treatment of the community school based child. . Demonstrates insight into key department functions and participates in efficient daily operation. . We offer a very competitive salary in the $92,000 - $101,000 range and benefits package.
