As a member of the Martin’s Family, an Inventory Clerk maintains parts inventory for maintenance department by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties as assigned.

  • Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records.

  • Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.

  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.

  • Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance.

  • Prepares reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.

  • Prepares list of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items.

  • Stocks and issues materials or merchandise.

  • Operates forklifts, scissor lifts, and company van.

  • Communicates regularly via telephone, email, fax, in person, postal mail, etc. with suppliers, shippers, and personnel of Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.

  • Searches inventory records to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.

  • Consults catalogs and suppliers to obtain prices and specifications and recommends supplier to utilize.

  • Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, and deliveries.

  • Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates and places orders with suppliers.

  • Assigns accurate information to required fields of purchasing and inventory records.

  • Performs other parts transactions as directed.

  • Serves as the contact person and coordinator for parts running.

  • Maintains cleanliness of general maintenance parts room (sweeps and mops shop floors, removes large quantities of trash).

  • Operates company vehicle to perform tasks of courier (handling/processing mail, delivering mail to FedEx, UPS, and Post Office).

  • Utilizes company vehicle to pick up food and supplies for office meetings and/or events for Valdosta.

  • Assists with the duties/responsibilities of Bakery Assistant as needed.

    Education and/or Experience :

  • High School Diploma or GED;

  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Computer Skills:

  • Knowledge of Oracle and EAM software.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software.

    Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklift and electric jack.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
