Job Summary:

The Hythe Vail, a premier luxury destination in the heart of Vail Valley, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our esteemed culinary team. This position is crucial in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of our kitchen operations. The Dishwasher will work closely with the culinary team to maintain the highest standards of hygiene, supporting our mission to deliver an extraordinary dining experience to our guests. Job Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Sanitizing

  • Thoroughly wash and sanitize all kitchenware, including plates, glasses, cutlery, pots, pans, and utensils, following strict health and safety standards.

  • Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment, ensuring it is clean, functioning correctly, and stocked with necessary supplies.

  • Regularly check and replenish cleaning chemicals, following proper usage guidelines and safety procedures.

  • Kitchen Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, including floors, walls, workstations, and storage areas, to ensure a safe and organized environment.

  • Perform deep cleaning tasks on a scheduled basis, including cleaning ovens, grills, and other heavy kitchen equipment.

  • Monitor and maintain proper waste disposal procedures, ensuring trash, recycling, and compost bins are regularly emptied, sanitized, and correctly sorted.

  • Inventory and Organization

  • Assist in the organization and storage of kitchen supplies, including dishware, cookware, and food items, ensuring everything is stored properly and efficiently.

  • Conduct routine inventory checks of kitchen supplies and report any shortages to the supervisor for timely replenishment.

  • Support to Kitchen Staff

  • Assist the culinary team with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients, as needed.

  • Ensure that all clean items are promptly returned to their designated areas, supporting smooth kitchen operations during peak service hours.

  • Assist in setting up and breaking down the kitchen before and after service, ensuring all areas are ready for the next shift.

  • Safety Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling procedures, to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.

  • Report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety hazards to the Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager immediately.

  • Participate in regular safety and sanitation training sessions to stay updated on the latest industry standards.

  • Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively during busy periods.

  • Communicate openly with team members to ensure smooth coordination and support, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar kitchen role is preferred but not required. We value a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing multiple tasks.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively within a diverse team.

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the business needs.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and reaching.
