Core Job Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and monitor and promote clinical status of each Neuroscience patient

• Assist with history and physicals, consults, progress notes, procedures (as appropriate) and discharges

• Participate in and lead Stroke Rounds in different levels of care at the hospital

• Designing personalized neurological treatment plans

• Act as a clinical resource for patients and the interdisciplinary team

• Answer triage calls and pages

• Assist with outpatient clinic

• Participate in maintaining Comprehensive Stroke Center status with attendance at departmental

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.

• Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges.

• Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas.

• Familiar with EHR/EMR software.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:

• Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.

• Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.

PREFERRED:

• Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty
