    Position Summary:

    Sign on Bonus - $5,000 - 2 year commitment. To perform routine radiographic procedures on designated portion of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury to ensure patient safety and quality care. The role of the radiologic technologist is to support clinic operations, provide quality patient care, ensure excellent customer satisfaction, and to support an atmosphere of respect and professionalism.

    Qualifications:

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Associate's Degree in Related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Radiography (R)(ARRT) upon hire IEMA Radiography License upon hire BLS within 30 days of hire EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Experience Preferred. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of Health Information System. Basic knowledge of radiology equipment.

    Essential Functions:

  • performs a quality exam and orders exams appropriately. Performs diagnostic images according to established policies, procedures, standards and protocols.

  • Determines appropriate radiographic techniques based on anatomy and patient's condition to obtain and provide quality images to the physicians and radiologists. Determines and uses appropriate technique for positioning patient using immobilization and support devices as needed. Seeks feedback from Radiologist for improvement and compliance.

  • Secures history from patient regarding reason for prescribed tests and records on appropriate form for the radiologists review.

  • Prepares, submits, and maintains all documents required for successful accreditation of general x-ray. Maintains record keeping systems in compliance with regulations.

  • Maintains integrity of supplies and equipment in the department. Performs daily quality control and ensures that preventative maintenance of all radiographic equipment is performed.

  • Provides and practices radiation protection and safety in conjunction with IEHA standards. Displays/wears radiation dose measurement badge when required.

  • Checks image quality to assure optimal quality is attained and correct image labeling is visible to the Radiologist

  • Accurately obtains and documents patient history, intake information including chief complaint, vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure) as needed.

  • Obtains 12 lead EKG as needed, sends tracing out for interpretation and documents appropriately

  • Performs laboratory functions: Collects and prepares specimens for testing, performs routine in-house lab tests, performs and documents quality controls, records lab results and tests performed in log and on chart. Informs providers or RN of abnormal values

  • Demonstrates ability to utilize medical equipment appropriately

  • Cleans, stocks and prepares rooms. Maintains inventory of medical supplies.

  • Performs clerical duties such as maintaining adequate patient records, answering phones, scheduling examinations, giving instructions to patients in preparation for examination to provide smooth and continuous departmental services when needed

  • Attends department meetings, classroom education and independently completes online learning in a timely manner. Participation in opportunities to grow and develop in position and improve the department.

  • If Applicable, as a preceptor, collaborates with others to individualize the orientation plan for new departmental employees
