Position Summary:

Assist the Associate Director of the Pre-Service and In-Service Program with overseeing and implementing the daily programmatic operations, design, and delivery of pre-service and in-service trainings. This includes the direct supervision and oversight of Training and Learning Facilitators, and Senior Training and Learning Facilitators (Trainers).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a program liaison with DCFS, private agency management, and the Office of Learning and Professional Development. Serve on the administrative team of the Pre-Service and In-Service Program and manage operational tasks for a team of Pre-Service and In-Service trainers. Assist the Associate Director with evaluating operational efficiency and effectiveness, curriculum design, making recommendations for change, and implementing approved recommendations. May serve as a trainer and a facilitator for Foundation classes, In-service standalone classes, and special cohorts.

Ensure the program meets obligated program deliverables and expectations by assisting the Associate Director with the annual regional and statewide planning and implementation of preservice and in-service training for child welfare specialist professionals. Report to Associate Director on all programmatic deliverables, development of training staff, and evaluative measures and outcomes related to training events, use of trainers, and outcomes of deliverables.
  • Promote team quality assurance. This includes ensuring team quality improvement, overseeing orientation and professional development for Trainers, calculating, analyzing, and evaluating outcome and efficacy data, and overseeing the collection of outcome and efficacy data. Offer feedback and training from quarterly observation results. Support the Associate Director with composing program protocols, procedures, and

    management reports.

  • Assist the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, along with its partners from private child welfare agencies, in the development and approval of the annual statewide training schedule. Identify, manage, and support pre-service and in-service training within the Department by establishing intra-agency and inter-agency linkages, including various committees, work groups, and advisory councils. Collaborate and assist in the receipt and administrative review and approval of statewide pre-service and in-service training requests. Collaborate in the administration, evaluation, and quality assurance of all approved pre-service and in-service programs and courses. Participate in local agency meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

Master\'s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a related field, which may be psychology, education, human services, humanities, and/or a field of the social sciences or other related direct or indirect service practice. Professional experience of five or more years in public or child welfare services, with two or more years of supervisory experience which included oversight of staff development.

Preferred Qualifications

Three or more years of experience conducting training in a public or private child welfare specialists training program. Licensed Direct Service Child Welfare Employee (CWEL) under DCFS Rule, Part 412.

A basic understanding of the population served by child welfare services, and the roles and duties of child welfare staff.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the search closes. The budgeted salary range for the position is \$69,000-\$76,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
