JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Office for the Senior Vice President for Research is hiring a part time web and data assistant to support a major website migration project and an impact mapping project.

On the website project, the person in the position will work with the OSVPR Marketing Communications Team and partners across the research enterprise to organize, edit and migrate content from Drupal to WordPress, build new webpages in WordPress, and style content. They will also assist with updates and maintenance for existing WordPress websites, train others on the use of the WordPress sites, and configure and monitor web analytics.

On the impact mapping project, the person in this position will help to map the long-term impact of Penn State Research by populating a database with past research projects and mapping their connections to further research and societal impacts.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, an ability to organize large volumes of information into coherent structures, and an interest in learning and deploying new web technologies. Strong preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience working with WordPress, HTML, and CSS. Experience in Drupal will also weigh in the candidates favor.

This is a remote position with opportunities for local hires to join in-person meetings and team gatherings. Candidates should plan to be available for meetings during business hours (8-5, M-F), but a bulk of the work can be completed on a flexible schedule. The candidate should be self-directed with an ability to organize and prioritize their work to meet established deadlines.
