JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Teaching and Learning with Technology seeks a passionate and motivated creative individual to serve as a Media Commons Consultant. This position has a focus on Adobe Creative Cloud and emerging technologies like generative AI within the Media Commons, Maker Commons, and Immersive Experiences Lab initiatives team. These initiatives provide consultative services to all Penn State faculty and students interested in digital media, making, and immersive technologies.

Graphic designer, filmmaker, maker, and/or content developer with a passion for teaching and empowering others' creativity

Job Description & Duties:

Collaborating with other members of the Media Commons team on providing consultative services to faculty and students on the appropriate application of media technologies like video and audio creation, use of the One Button Studio, photography, 3D printing, maker technologies, and virtual reality and augmented reality technologies with an emphasis on supporting Adobe Creative Cloud software like Express, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, and more.

Provide 1-on-1 consultations for students and faculty learning to produce academic-focused media with an emphasis on storytelling and narrative

Demonstrate creative uses of technology, and teach workshops in a classroom environment

Responsible for day-to-day Media Commons operations in the Shields Building space, which includes facilitating student and faculty access to One Button Studios, photography equipment, the AI Arcade, podcasting rooms, and other multimedia technology.

Opportunity to contribute to ongoing social media and outreach efforts

This is an in-person position at the University Park campus. Some flexibility for occasional hybrid work during the summer months. Occasional travel to other Penn State campuses may be required.

Typical Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Professional attitude, the ability to work independently

Creative and strong organizational and communication skills

A proactive approach to customer service

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $61,800.00 - $89,600.00
