JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Human Resources seeks a detail-oriented individual to support essential HR functions within the University Libraries & Scholarly Communications and Schreyer Honors College. As a vital member of the HR Team, the Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for a variety of HR duties including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in HR functions such as staffing, training, and performance evaluations, including monitoring compliance training.

  • Track and assist in employee departures, retirement inquiries, exit surveys, and separation processes

  • Respond to and resolve employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, policies, and staffing

  • Accurate and timely processing of HR transactions in Workday

  • Conduct audits and monitor progress for data accuracy

  • Generate, analyze HR data reports, and distribute compliance reminders

  • Support and update HR procedures, policies, and programs

  • Liaise with various HR departments, such as Talent Acquisition, Benefits, and Data & Onboarding

  • Assist and collaborate with the HR Strategic Partner and HR Consultant

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Education and Experience:

This position minimally requires a high school diploma/GED or vocational training/degree plus 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Information:

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
