JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State's Office of Physical Plant (https://opp.psu.edu) (OPP) Work Reception Center has an opportunity for a Facilities Services Representative! The Facilities Service Representative position is responsible for receiving, triaging, processing, and dispatching emergency and routine maintenance requests from all locations, areas, and facilities of the University.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creating work orders in a customized database.

  • Answering multiple phone lines.

  • Utilizing a 2-way radio system to transmit and receive calls.

  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

  • Following detailed work procedures and policies to make informed decisions around emergency and routine maintenance.

  • Utilizing a call-out system for technician response to after-hours emerging events.

  • Processing electronic correspondence (e.g. e-mail, messaging apps) and records.

  • Releasing physical keys and granting card access to internal and external customers.

This position will have a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Covering shifts outside of your normal schedule and working overtime will be required due to the business needs of the Work Reception Center.

Education and experience:

Minimally requires a High School Diploma /GED or Vocational Training/Degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications and skills to be successful in this position are:

  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to multitask.

  • Experience with various computer applications including Microsoft Office 365.

  • Background using customized databases.

  • Customer service experience.

  • General understanding of building facilities and mechanical systems are preferred.

  • A positive attitude, a desire to learn and improve personal performance.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
