JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Campus Recreation, in Student Affairs, is seeking applications for an Athletic Trainer to join our team.

The Athletic Trainer will provide coverage for all high-risk competitive sports, including first aid, injury treatment, and emergency response. This position will be responsible for the operation of the athletic training room, including patient injury care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. Additional responsibilities include baseline concussion testing for high-risk competitive sport participants, and concussion evaluation and return-to-play progression plans for participants.

Job Responsibilities Required but are not limited to the following:

Program and Services Management

Assist with medical coverage at home club sports competitions for the high-risk tier-level clubs.

Provide first aid and emergency response as needed.

Provide evaluation and treatment of injuries for participants.

Lead rehabilitation for participants following an injury or surgery.

Implement functional return-to-play programs following an injury.

Conduct injury prevention exercise programs for participants.

Complete baseline concussion testing for participants in the high-risk tier-level club sports.

Complete concussion evaluation and return-to-play progression plans for participants.

Risk Management

Assist Competitive Sports staff with an annual review of the Club Sports Risk Matrix and where clubs are categorized in the risk tier system.

Develop a Club Sports Emergency Action Plan, including a severe weather policy.

Support Club Sport student leader training for risk management.

Complete Campus Recreation Accident forms for all injury responses.

Work with and provide consultation to the Campus Recreation Risk Management work team.

Assist with the development of departmental safety and risk management training.

Administration

Work closely with University Health Services and provide professional referrals to patients as needed.

Coordinate and schedule medical coverage at home club sports competitions for the high-risk tier-level clubs.

Provide oversight and guidance to academic interns.

Maintain accurate records of all patient treatments.

Maintain inventory of athletic training equipment and supplies; make recommendations on future purchases and program needs.

Assist Campus Recreation leadership in developing and maintaining the budget for athletic training.

Other Duties as Assigned

Collaborate with internal and external groups to complete the job responsibilities and support Campus Recreation.

Attend and actively participate in area, department, and divisional meetings.

Serve as an active member on committees and project groups within Campus Recreation

Education and Experience Requirements

Master's degree and three years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

OC Certified Athletic Trainer; APA State Licensed Athletic Trainer; Certified Health Care Provider (CPR/AED)

This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $46,400.00 - $67,300.00
