JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Chemistry is seeking an experienced web developer to develop and maintain the generalchemistry electronic textbook. The GenChem eBook is a highly interactive and customizable tool for the deliveryof course content including simulations and animations of chemical and physical phenomena, videos, quizzesand other assessments. It also includes some course management utilities. It is currently used by about 4,000students per year.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience developing custom Drupalmodules and themes using the Drupal 7 API, including significant competency with PHP, MySQL, and Git versioncontrol. General web development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScripl/jQuery, Web standards andaccessibility is also required. Moderate system administration and integration skills are also desirable, includingfamiliarity with Linux (RHEL/CentOS), Apache, Vagrant and high-availability automated software deploymentthrough testing, staging, and production environments.

This position requires a bachelor's degree or higher and 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of refunding.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $76,700.00 - $115,100.00
