JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to join the administrative team to provide administrative and financial support to the Institute.SSRI's strategic mission is to foster interdisciplinary research that addresses critical human and social problems at the local, national, and international levels.

The Administrative Assistant will report to the SSRI Managing Director.This position will work closely with the Institute Director to maintain her calendar and schedule, assist with Institute business and other office-related functions, including greeting and managing visitors, meeting setup/cleanup, and providing general office support such as composing, reviewing and distributing internal and external communications on behalf of the Director. This position will provide both administrative and financial support for the various Units within SSRI, including the Admin, IT and Communications Cores.We are looking for a creative professional who thrives in a team-based, collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities: The Administrative Assistant will have the following responsibilities: Coordinate meeting logistics including scheduling, material preparation, and agendas for the SSRI Director; greeting and managing visitors, provide information as necessary Compose, review and distribute internal and external communications on behalf of the Director Provide administrative support to the various Units within SSRI to ensure efficient workflow and processes, including special events, conferences, and workshops. Provide financial support to the various Units within SSRI to ensure efficient workflow and processes, including monitoring budgets and processing financial transactions in SIMBA, Lion Marketplace, SAPConcur, etc. Manage the key and facilities requests for the Institute, including working orders for facilities needs and equipment maintenance; CCure for card swipe access; prepare key audits Maintain files, databases, and listservs within the Institute for the SSRI Affiliate program Provide support/back-up to the SSRI Events and Program Manager with regards to open houses, workshops, conferences and faculty development programs

Education and Experience: This position will be filled as an Administrative Assistant - Intermediate/Senior Support, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. It minimally requires a High School diploma or higher and 2+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, etc.) is required and other software including SIMBA (or an equivalent financial system), SAPConcur (or a similar expense reimbursement and travel booking system), Live25 (or a similar booking system) and Qualtrics is highly preferred. The successful candidate will also have: Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, and attention to detail; Dedication to and understanding of the skills required to build relationships with diverse communities; Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; Strong proofreading, written/oral communication and customer service skills; The ability to work on several tasks at once, while prioritizing appro riately in a fast-paced environment; Demonstrated ability to take initiative, self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team; Commitment to professional development, learning and being mentored

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is: $38,300.00 - $61,000.00
