We have a fantastic opportunity for those with buildings repair knowledge and a desire to deliver first class customer service, to become Property Loss Adjusters across different areas of the UK.

Do you scope building works in relation to insurance claims, have buildings construction knowledge, know how to establish pre-existing damage and causation, have face to face customer experience, and are passionate about delivering first class customer service? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

As a Home Claims Loss Adjuster, we’ll provide you with full training to allow you to manage a caseload of domestic property damage claims, including visiting customers at their homes, scoping and assessing the insured damage, co-ordinating visits from contractors, and agreeing settlement of the claim within the terms of the policy, whilst taking care of our customers throughout.

Imagine yourself stepping into people's lives during some of their most unsettling moments: a burst pipe that flooded the kitchen, a fire that scorched the living room, trees fallen through the roof from storm damage. You'll be there, the calming presence amidst the chaos, then returning to your desk at Sedgwick surrounded by your colleagues, or to your laptop at home, where you will progress the claim whilst keeping the customer fully updated.

Along with visits to customers’ properties, we are happy for your base to be a balance of our office and your home.

This is perfect for detail-oriented problem-solvers, with a passion for helping people, who crave variety and want to build a rewarding career.

The skills you will have when you apply:

  • A full UK Driving Licence : It is essential you can travel by car

  • Building knowledge: Have an understanding of building works and the construction of a domestic property.

  • Excellent communication skills : You'll speak with and write to policyholders, insurers, contractors, and more. You’ll explain complex details clearly and negotiate fair settlements for all, whilst taking care of our customers

  • Problem-solving abilities : You should be able to identify and solve problems efficiently

  • Time management : As you’ll be planning your own week you must effectively manage your time, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines. You will be required to handle multiple claims simultaneously.

What is helpful, but not vital, in your application:

  • Technology: Use of Apple software such as iPads, or other tablets

The skills that will be developed once working:

  • Comprehensive Training: You'll receive all the Sedgwick-specific training needed to excel in your role.

  • Professional Development: We are committed to helping you work towards the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters' Cert CILA qualification and beyond to full chartered status.
