DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will be responsible for assisting the Administrator in completing the daily workload as efficiently as possible.  Specific duties involve maintaining the Administrator's schedule, general filing, compiling data for reports and letters, sorting incoming mail and correspondence for the Administrator, and typing letters, reports, meeting minutes, and memos.  You will also serve as the primary point of contact for all telephone calls and unscheduled visitors for the Administrator, which requires excellent judgement in order to determine the purpose of the call and route calls to the appropriate department.  We are looking for a dependable and enthusiastic candidate with excellent communication and critical thinking skills.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Fayette County.  If no eligible candidates who live within Fayette County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
