General Purpose

  • Performs scheduled inspections, makes repairs, and performs maintenance on electrical equipment following company guidelines and checklists, using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing tools, by performing the following duties.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The following duties are examples of assignments performed by incumbents in this classification. It is not a totally comprehensive list of duties, nor is it restrictive regarding job assignments as other duties may be assigned.

  • 2-4 years' experience working with electronics.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze problems.

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Experience with prototype fabrication, assembly, testing and reporting.

  • Able to use common electronics bench equipment and soldering techniques to assemble and test electronic sub-assemblies and/or test equipment.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned, as requested or required.

  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.

  • Reads and understands parts books and schematic drawings to determine parts needed and work procedures.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

  • Open and close assigned work orders

  • Installs and adjusts electronic monitoring equipment; fits monitoring device to equipment.

  • Troubleshooting and repair of electrical components. Performs diagnostic testing on electrical components.

  • Modify installs of electronic monitoring equipment. Test safety equipment.

  • Performs inventory of Electronic Technology Parts components.

  • Responds to Fuel station emergency calls

  • Ability to communicate and work well with others in a multi-disciplined environment.

  • Highly self-motivated and focused independent/team worker.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma, General Education Development (GED) or equivalent

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and skills in using hand tools, including screwdrivers, socket wrenches, and specialized mechanic tools.

  • Knowledge of and skills in using power tools including cut-off saws, drills, portable band saws, skill saws, air impact wrenches, grinders.

  • Knowledge of and skills in operating soldering equipment and cutting tools.

  • Knowledge of and skills in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel).

  • Knowledge of and skills to organize and inventory Electronic Technology parts.

  • Knowledge of and skills in electronic mechanical maintenance.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, drawings, schematics, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and utilize effective time management skills.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, length, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic shop math.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

  • Must possess valid driver’s license and be insurable by company insurance provider to drive and operate company vehicles and equipment as necessary.

  • TWIC Card (and/or the ability to obtain a TWIC Card) preferred, but not required.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person, over the telephone and/or through e-mail.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.

  • Seeing to read a variety of materials.

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

  • Bending the waist, kneeling, or crouching to file and retrieve materials.

  • Lift and carry archive boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Office environment - Work in an office setting as a member of a group.

    • Industrial environment – Work in warehouse, outdoor operations, and other industrial environments at times.

    • Constant interruptions.
