Description

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Cost Accountant in Turlock, California. This job function involves working with the accounting team in a manufacturing environment, focusing on cost accounting and product costing tasks. The workplace will require you to work onsite and carry out tasks related to the industry's financial aspects.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager to establish standard costs for manufactured goods.

• Analyze cost standards and report variances to actual costs.

• Develop cost models to calculate labor, administration, sales, and other costs by material.

• Suggest changes to reduce costs and maximize profit.

• Prepare monthly reports to measure shrinkage of raw materials and packaging.

• Review work orders for accuracy and adjust costs as necessary in the Sage X3 ERP system.

• Research material costs to ensure the accuracy of information in the Sage X3 ERP system.

• Conduct periodic audits of manufacturing processes to ensure accurate cost allocation.

• Work closely with the CFO to provide material costs for budget preparation.

• Manage bill of materials for all manufactured goods to ensure accurate costing in the Sage X3 ERP system.

• Foster a team environment and embrace accountability for assigned duties.

Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Minimum of three years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in using Sage Software for financial management and accounting.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Demonstrated expertise in product costing and product cost development.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and its application in a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve company-wide objectives.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex financial information.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze financial data and make recommendations.

• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity to handle sensitive financial information.
