The Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), an employer of choice is announcing an exciting opportunity for a Senior Generalist, Human Resource Consultant 4 (HRC4)!
Reporting to the HR Manager within the Office of Human Resources (OHR), this position is a professional expert level human resource consultant providing comprehensive human resource services and consultation to executives, managers, supervisors, and employees in an assigned customer area. This involves gaining a thorough understanding of the customer's business needs and effectively overlaying a strong knowledge of human resource laws, rules, policies, and practices in order to identify best practices and make recommendations.

Duties
Some of what you'll do:
- Advise executives, managers and supervisors on corrective action and disciplinary issues.
- Provide expert advice and consultation on a variety of complex human resource issues.
- Plan and conduct fact-finding investigations, and prepare reports.
- Consult with employees and supervisors regarding reasonable accommodations, and protected leaves.
- Consult with and advise executives, managers, and supervisors on the formal grievance process.
- Review and analyze position description forms (PDF's) for completeness and appropriate allocation, including updates, establishment of positions, and reallocation requests.
- Provide guidance and assistance to executives, managers and supervisors during the recruitment and hiring process.

Qualifications

Required:
- Seven (7) years of progressively increasing responsibility providing broad-based professional human resource experience, including conducting research and analyzing policies and regulations, facilitating organizational development or change, and advising and consulting on complex human resource issues.
- OR *A Bachelor's degree with focus on business administration, human resources, social or organizational behavior sciences, or related field *AND three (3) years of progressively increasing broad-based professional human resource experience.
*Desired: *
- Prior service as Human Resource Consultant in state government or other unionized entity.
- Familiarity with civil service rules and collective bargaining agreement provisions.
