The Role

The Sales Engineer II is an integral part of our team as they support our Wholesale sales team. The Sales Engineer II is the technical lead on the account team, responsible for technical and business requirements discovery, solution design/engineering/consulting, proposal preparation support, and technical presentations to customers for Lumen's full suite of products and solutions.

The Sales Engineer II is the primary contact for internal partners and external customers relative to network design and performs a wide variety of administrative, technical, and sales duties. Additionally, the Sales Engineer II will provide post-sale support customer service issues resolution.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Facilitates customer conversations to uncover, scope, and define customer business objectives addressable by Lumen capabilities

  • Analyzes customers business needs and develops solution strategies based on knowledge of customer’s technology environment

  • Develops strong customer relationships and acts as a customer advocate within Lumen to ensure the delivery of an exceptional customer experience

  • Prepares technical proposals and presentations for customers and provide limited scope responses to service and industry questions.

  • Presents the capabilities of Lumen and the business value/ROI of service offerings proposed to customers.

  • Provides statements of work, scoping and design documentation, solution summaries, operational support detail, and other technical documentation to outline delivery and lifecycle of services proposed to customers.

  • Participate in relevant market, industry, or technology organizations / associations, marketing events, and trade shows Provide basic service, capability, technology, and industry training to internal and external groups.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and and/or equivalent education and experience

  • 3 years of related experience in field engineering and telecom

  • Sales and project management experience

  • Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills

  • Goal oriented

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$72690 - $96920 in these states: OK.

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
