One Gas Manager, Technical Training, Governance, and Compliance in Tulsa, Oklahoma

The Manager, Technical Training, Governance, and Compliance will oversee the relationship between ONE Gas and the third-party providers of Operator Qualifications (OQ) from a financial perspective. You will be responsible for annual reviews of the OQ Programs, job roles, and frequent procedural reviews. You will also be responsible for OQ remediations, records retention, and the integrity of our OQ Program.

What You Will Do

Oversee and administer technical training and Operator Qualifications (OQ) programs and related activities for all divisions. Manage, direct, and assist employees in the development, implementation, and administration of technical training and OQ programs including:

  • Fire safety

  • Welding

  • Joining plastic pipe

  • Certifications

  • Field activities

  • Equipment usage

  • Targeted Selection (specified by position)

  • Team building (specified by position)

  • Distant learning (specified by position)

Administer programs for operator qualification (OQ) and testing to ensure compliance with Company and governmental standards and regulations. Ensure technical training staff maintains needed credentials for certifying others.

Ensure maintenance of training centers/facilities, equipment, and supplies.

Assist management, employees, government/regulatory agencies, contractors, and others on matters including:

  • Technical and non-technical training programs, policies, and procedures

  • Employee and training records

  • Certifications

  • Governmental regulations and guidelines

  • Training facilities and equipment

Evaluate employee performance and initiate processes for employee development. Compile, process, verify, and prepare information and reports including:

  • Technical training class agendas, lesson plans, and assessments tests

  • Certifications

  • Company and employee records

  • Training manuals and statistics

  • Correspondence

Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

What You Will Need

Preferred bachelor's degree business administration, management, training and development, or related field with previous experience in technical and non-technical training or equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as training and development, safety law/accident investigation, technical writing, or business communications PLUS the following job-related experience:

Experience with and knowledge of technical and non-technical training program development and administration.

Experience with field operations and customer service, and office support and office activities, policies, and procedures.

Experience with and knowledge of regulatory agencies and governmental laws and regulations about Operator Qualifications and other functions such as fire safety, welding/plastic fusion certifications, related codes and standards, and developmental training programs.

Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including training center equipment and accessing mainframe computers and microcomputers. Experience with application of math and algebraic formulas.

Experience and training related to:

  • Field safety and firefighting

  • Company training programs, processes, and methods

  • Company and federal, state, and local government codes, rules, standards, and regulations

  • Tools/equipment used in construction, maintenance, and service of distribution and transmission pipelines

  • Organizational development (specified by position)

  • Course design/evaluation (specified by position)

  • Developmental needs analyses (specified by position)

Experience developing, researching, and/or preparing technical and non-technical job lesson plans, training materials, policies, procedures, and correspondence.

Experience reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing company policies, procedures, and records, equipment manuals, certification tests, governmental regulations and guidelines, contracts, and other technical training documents.

Experience supervising, advising, and communicating. Working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.

Experience developing information, conducting meetings, and making presentations.

Read and write fluently in English.

Minimum Applicable driver's license. Requires travel to offices, job sites, and training facilities throughout system.

Mobility to travel in and around office surroundings, job sites, and training centers/facilities throughout system.

Operate tools and equipment required.

Lift and move objects weighing 25 to 50 lbs daily.

Communicate and exchange information; conduct oral presentations and meetings. Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities.
