Navistar, Inc. Facility Systems Technician in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Position Overview

The Tulsa IC Bus Plant is looking for a Facility Systems Technician to join our team! The TBP is a million square foot facility that builds school buses from the ground up. Our products are responsible for taking millions of kids to school safely every day. The Facility Systems Technician performs general manufacturing production and non-production machine and equipment maintenance. Performs preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure maximum up-time

Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 5:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Pay: $25.66 plus $1.00 Shift Differential

Responsibilities

Works safely and follows all required PPE and Safe work rules.• Receives and manages time sensitive work order assignments.• Reads hydraulic and pneumatic blueprints and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic systems.• Troubleshoots and repairs production and non-production machines and equipment.• Troubleshoots and repairs motor control and drive systems, heating and cooling equipment, industrial control systems, industrial doors, and lighting and electrical systems.• Performs metal fabrication, welding, and heavy equipment repair.• Must be willing to work any shift.• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience in maintenance related field

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.   • Must have organization skills, effective communication skills with both technical and professional staffAbility to troubleshoot problems and offer solutions on all industrial systems

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance

  • Ability to work efficiently and with a sense of urgency

  • Ability to demonstrate overall safe work behavior; including the utilization of proper safety equipment and adhering to safety guidelines

  • This position is safety sensitive and may involve the operation of vehicles, operation of equipment, and/or involve work with power tools, or handling of hazardous materials, that could result in injury or damage to person/property/manufacturing process

Physical Requirements:

  • Moderate lifting, 15-44 pounds

  • Moderate carrying, 15-44 pounds

  • Reaching and working above shoulders

  • Use of fingers, both hands required

  • Depth perception required

  • Able to walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend up to 10 hours per day

  • Climbing using both legs and arms

  • Ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors

  • Hearing (aid permitted)

Desired Skills

  • Possess a working knowledge of 480 volt, 277 volt, 240 volt, 208 volt and 120/24 volt systems with the ability to implement these voltages, including routing of all conduit and wires installing breaker panels, disconnects, transformers, lighting, etc. and performing terminations without supervision

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical components

  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety requirements related to hazardous, flammable and explosive materials and environments

  • Ability to self-manage work priorities

  • Ability to specify the needed parts for equipment or process failures

  • High School or GED preferred
