Hilton Area Director of Finance in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Our Finance team serves as a critical business partner responsible for managing all global activities related to financial performance, accounting, tax, forecasting, risk management, and asset management.

Our Finance team serves as a critical business partner responsible for driving the performance of the hotels in the region; ensuring a strong internal control environment in our hotels is being maintained, forecasting, risk management, developing, maintaining, and insuring strong Owner relations for portfolio owners implementing our talent strategy, supporting our Development organization and ongoing financial analysis focused on driving performance.

What will I be doing?

Direct and support property financial leaders in achieving high levels of performance and value creation through activities of the Operations Finance Group. Provide tactical support to RFD of Finance. Proactive involvement with the Finance Operations team in leading the progress of hotels in achieving the organization’s stated goals. Plan coordinate and direct corrective actions to be taken as a result of the financial leadership. Responsibilities include direct oversight of property-level financial leaders on a tactical basis. Provide leadership and vision to financial leaders regarding their control environment, business processes, and talent management.

More specifically, you will:

  • Interact with property GMs, and Directors of Finance, with respect to the performance of ops finance and assist with the analysis of financial Information, Corporate Strategies, Internal Controls, or governmental regulations.
  • Prepare high-level presentations and summaries for use by Senior Management and communicated to Owners. Ensure proactive communications to owners relative to financials or any issues related to the Management Agreement.
  • Interact with Area Vice Presidents, and regional team regarding financial reporting and accountability. Manage the cross-functional links between Operations/ FP&A/ COE / Tax / Corporate Accounting/ Brand/ HR / Owner Relations and Legal
  • Lead all aspects of and evaluate business processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the property finance department. Drive financial performance in the hotels and for the region. Ensure business plan and goals are being followed and achieved or revising the plan if needed
  • Ensure appropriate talent is identified in compliance with the department staffing plan. Determine staffing needs and lead all aspects of the recruiting, selecting, hiring, training, and developing finance departmental managers at properties. Work to assist in accomplishing property department initiatives, and their own career objectives
  • Assist corporate finance, Directors of Finance, Hotel Controllers, and central office finance with financial issues and irregularities and help implement appropriate corrective actions. Handle the Control environment support including balance sheet reviews and peer review process.
  • Oversight of (6) Hilton Managed Properties in various states: The Skirvin Hilton Oklahoma City, Hilton Orrington/Evanston, DoubleTree by Hilton South Charlotte Tyvola, DoubleTree Tulsa Warren Place, DoubleTree by Hilton Tulsa Downtown, The Martinique New York City

To fulfill this role successfully, you should have the following minimum qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • Ten (10) years of hospitality industry experience preferred, with a mix of experience from Operations Finance, Business Intelligence, and Operations Support roles
  • Six (6) or more years of developing and leading a team of four (4) or more individuals
  • Travel 25% of the time during the month normally Monday-Friday; occasional weekend travel based on demand.

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • BA/BS/Bachelor's Degree
  • MBA or related MA/MS/Master’s Degree
  • Knowledge of SmartView

Salary Range: $175,000-$185,000 based on applicable experience
