Description
Our Tucson client seeks a Tax Manager to join their growing team.
Responsibilities:
Managing and overseeing the tax team of a CPA firm by providing guidance and direction
Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations
Coordinating and executing detailed tax planning for clients to reduce their tax liabilities
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
Conducting research on various tax issues and providing interpretation of tax laws for clients
Managing relationships with clients and communicating with them regularly to ensure their needs are met
Keeping abreast of changes in tax laws, and informing other team members and clients of these updates
Coordinizing with audits, reviewing and validating tax balances on financial statements
Assisting clients with tax audits and negotiations with tax authorities, where necessary
Educating and advising clients on tax matters, enabling them to make informed financial decisions
Devising effective tax strategies to minimize the tax burden for clients, while adhering to tax laws
Participating in business development activities such as identifying and pursuing new tax-related business opportunities
Cultivating a strong team environment where members feel valued and motivated to perform at their best
Continually assessing internal processes and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness, and making adjustments as necessary
Providing tax training and mentoring to junior staff members.
Preparing periodic tax reports and income projections for clients
Requirements
Must have an active CPA license
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience
Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
Demonstrated skills in leadership, client relationships, decision-making, critical thinking, and proficient use of accounting software and technology.
