This is a heavy coordination role and you must be strong in managing the matrix and influencing others. Candidate must have previous autonomy experience and have worked at a Command for Hauling site. You will also establish and maintain high-level relationships with business decision-makers and subject matter experts.

What you will do:

  • The role will report to the Director of Technology Operations who has responsibility for the AHS Operations in North America.

  • The role will partner closely with the Mining Region Director, Site Performance Manager, Commercial Manager, and Sales Reps on commercial opportunities at the site.

  • Responsible for contributing to Caterpillar’s “Zero Harm” safety metrics as well as site-specific safety. Serves as the Responsible Person for all on-site Caterpillar personnel and ensures the safety of the overall AHS system

  • Coach the MineStar Site Managers team that are located in each customer mine site running the MineStar Command (AHS) System.

  • Support your team and influence and drive Caterpillar Product Groups and internal partners to accelerate and deliver interim corrective and permanent corrective actions and support that mitigate the impact of product and production issues to customers.

  • Support your team and influence various Caterpillar divisions to develop the correct new products and services to meet the mine’s current and future needs.

  • The position must be able to work with the dealer, Caterpillar, and the customer to deliver the agreed-upon metrics for the site.

  • Steer and manage key site performance metrics including technology availability, production metrics, operating cost per ton, uptime, AHS fleet utilization, safety, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Direction : Provide strategic leadership and direction to support multiple mine sites, driving a values-based approach to business.

  • Customer Engagement : Act as the senior point of contact for customers and dealers, addressing site operational, commercial, and general business issues.

  • Collaboration & Resource Allocation : Partner with Account Managers, client personnel, Product Support staff, Regional Operations/General Managers, and Facility Managers to allocate resources and resolve issues.

  • Operational Strategy : Align operational strategies and deliverables with contractual commitments and account performance expectations.

  • Budget Management : Develop and adhere to operating budgets and resourcing strategies.

  • Performance Delivery : Ensure the successful performance of technology solutions by working collaboratively with Site Technology Managers.

What skills you will have:

  • Technical Excellence: Extensive Autonomous Mine Operations and Mining Technology and Machine Experience. Broad company knowledge and a strong understanding of dealer operations, and Autonomous Operations are necessary to succeed in this role.

  • Field Support: Mine Site Experience including experience in technology, mine operations, or significant Dealer and Customer support-related roles.

  • Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

  • Service Excellence : Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.

  • Consulting : Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.

  • Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Relationship Management : Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is flexible. The sites you will support are located in Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario) and the US (Arizona).

Domestic relocation assistance is provided.

This position may require 50% travel.
