Your Opportunity

Join a Top 10 global design firm in our Buildings practice that provides Architecture, Interiors, and Engineering services with a long history and deep commitment to the health sector. As a senior contributor on our Buildings team, you will work independently to assist clients through the planning and delivery of fiscally responsible, high-performance designs. Experience requires familiarity with design and delivery processes, construction documentation, cost estimating and compliancy. You will manage the development of design proposals, integrated work plans, project financials, and stakeholder coordination, and mentorship of team members.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Client facing project leader responsible for managing multiple simultaneous small, medium, and large healthcare projects.

  • Plan, organize, and direct the work, throughout the life of the project, to successfully deliver the project to the client.

  • Develop and manage project scope, budget, schedule, and overall work plan to realize target financial performance.

  • Financial negotiation and development of project agreements.

  • Manage various contractual type including DB, DBB, CMAR, and IFOA.

  • Mentor Project Managers and motivate project teams.

  • Assure that Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented.

  • Lead project coordination and owner/site meetings with stakeholders.

  • Manage additional services, applications for payment by contractors and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.

  • Keep the Principal informed of progress on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.

  • Work with Operations Manager with project(s) resourcing.

  • Manage project invoicing and receivables.

  • Capable of leading projects with Lean Operating System.

  • Manage quality control of design, construction and construction administration.

  • Ensure that design intent is maintained through documentation and construction.

  • This position may require an onsite presence as needed in a co-location setting with the integrated project team through design and construction phases.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to create, motivate and manage high-performing, integrated teams.

  • Capable of simultaneously supporting one or more Principals on multiple projects.

  • Thorough understanding of code compliance, building construction systems and industry associated standards.

  • Licensure in one or multiple western mountain states.

  • California Healthcare (HCAI/OSHPD) experience is preferred but not required.

  • Effectively manage multiple deadlines.

  • Effective negotiator and communicator. Present abstract and technical ideas to the client and client representatives.

  • Knowledge of Lean Design and Construction concepts.

  • Understanding of design, financial, scheduling and construction administration software platforms including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Newforma and Procore. Prefer management experience with Revit.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to travel regionally up to 25% is desired.

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field.

Architecture Licensure required; NCARB preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of project management experience.

Sustainability Accreditation(s).

Flexible work policy with appropriate time in commercial office environment to perform job description. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
