Full Range: \$60,487 - \$84,682 Annually

The Pima County Information Technology Department is seeking a proactive, highly motivated, detail-oriented, and skilled Application Developer II to join our Web/UX Team. This role is essential in maintaining and enhancing both internal and public-facing websites while ensuring compliance with web accessibility standards. The ideal candidate shall have a strong understanding of web technologies, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), web analytics, and troubleshooting skills to optimize digital platforms for usability, accessibility, and performance. The role involves working closely with team members and cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that enhance user engagement and improve service delivery across various County departments and includes some user training and support. This position is onsite with the possibility of part-time telecommuting after six (6) months of initial probation.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops individual and group goals, ensuring efficient, accurate execution in accordance with target dates and budgets;

  • Reviews, approves, and provides technical guidance on technology personnel plans and specifications;

  • Analyzes, designs, programs, implements, and trains end users on automation solutions;

  • Provides independent technical and analytical service on complex application systems, including design, development, construction, and ongoing support;

  • Takes independent responsibility for technical aspects and ongoing support services for systems;

  • Assists in the development, deployment, and enforcement of application administration procedures and practices;

  • Contributes to the update of systems development life cycle standards manuals to ensure data integrity, security, and system performance;

  • Leads troubleshooting and resolution of complex application support issues;

  • Leads the annual upgrading of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications within assigned area;

  • Monitors application environments to ensure proper operation, performance, function, and availability, addressing SLA issues as needed;

  • Co-leads continuous improvement efforts for application systems and processes;

  • Collaborates with project teams to define customer requirements and develop process improvements or application sol tions;

  • Defines business processes, identifies improvement opportunities, and designs process improvement and deployment strategies;

  • Leads small application project efforts through the entire systems development life cycle;

  • Coordinates and executes customer segment application environment deployments and decommissioning efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college, university or technical trade school with a major in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems (MIS) or a closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND two years of work experience in software development and maintenance.
