SAMHSA SOAR TA Center: Social Work Internship (Remote)

The SOAR social work intern will be an integral member of the SOAR TA team. They will report to the SOAR Project Director and will be provided opportunities to learn and contribute to Center duties including, but not limited to: Observing and contributing to virtual technical assistance to states and localities to increase access to SSI/SSDI Communicating regularly with other SOAR TA Center staff Complete the SOAR Online Course and become familiar with the SSI/SSDI application process. Reviewing practice cases submitted through the SOAR Online Course including: o Review of initial submissions o Review of revised packets o Communicating with the SOAR team about emerging trends or issues with practice cases

Requirements Graduate level student in a related degree program (e.g., social sciences, social work, preferred); senior undergraduate level required. Some experience, knowledge and/or significant interest in behavioral health issues, with specific knowledge of topics related to the desired internship placement, such as recovery supports, homelessness and housing, income supports, criminal justice, mental health courts, serious mental illness, and the behavioral health needs of service members, Veterans, and their families
