Job Summary

The Accessibility Specialist in Student Disability Services assists the Director in managing all elements of the Institute’s response to and preparation for students enrolling with a documented disability. The Accessibility Specialist will receive and organize certification documentation and issue accommodation letters as requested by the Director. The Accessibility Specialist will assist the Director in delivering accommodation letters to students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in human services

  • Three (3) or more years of experience related to the duties described in the job summary

  • Candidates with experience in a higher education, disability services, case management, and/or medical records setting are preferred

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft and ability to learn job specific software and technology

  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to compose routine correspondence and reports

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies

  • Ability to assesses situations, consider alternatives and chooses appropriate course of action

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Americans with Disability Act (ADA)

  • Knowledge of 504/IEP

Shift

Business hours, weekends and/or evenings occasionally required

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $22.50 - $25.50
