HTC Global Services, Inc. has an opening for the position of Jr. Developer (Ref# JRD107SS).

Work Location:  Troy, MI and relocation required to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.

Job Duties:  Under direct supervision, develop and integrate IT solutions by using appropriate development methodologies and standards for mainframe applications. Involved in requirement analysis, design, development and coding, testing and quality assurance, post implementation support, documentation, and user training. Identify the client's requirements by detailed discussions / meetings with client, functional users, functional/technical consultants, and product owners to collect requirement specifications, metrics, and key performance indicators. Review system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested change is possible within existing system. Analyze business problems in the existing system by collaborating with end users. Prepare flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate the software architecture that meets client's requirements in an effective and cost-efficient manner. Develop in-detail technical specifications for application software to be performed by development team. Review design ideas and prototype with product owners and development team. Provide innovative solutions to complex system problems. Review the technical design specifications and code new or modify existing programs as per the design requirements. Follow coding guidelines to meet the standards. Minimize the coding and code the logic, which improves application performance. Involved in performance tuning of various long running JCL jobs. Review the code changes. Prepare test plan based on the system requirements specification. Inspect test results for accuracy and completeness. Ensure the desired quality standards and the system functionality are being met. Provide application technical support and maintenance activities for enhanced system functionality. Interact with end-users and troubleshoot production issues. Prepare system requirements specification documents. Document test plans and maintain a log of all change requests. Train the users in joint application development techniques. Review requirements specifications and prototype with users. Use of COBOL, PL/1, JCL, VSAM, IMS, TSO/ISPF, DB2, SQL, File-AID, SPUFI, REXX, z/OS, and Windows.

Requirements:  This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.  Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Technical Lead, Software Engineer, Software Developer, Programmer Analyst, or related experience.  Position requires 1 year of experience with COBOL, PL/1, JCL, VSAM, IMS, and DB2.  40hrs/week.
