HFI,LLC Director of Sales in Troy, Michigan

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Director to oversee sales accounts, ensuring alignment with our account management strategy. This role is pivotal in servicing our existing customers while expanding our business base. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing and reporting on the 5-Year Sales Plan.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering exceptional service and understanding customer needs.

  • Support operational and product development teams in meeting customer expectations.

  • Engage proactively with customers daily on:

  • Quoting and Change Management

  • Price Tracking

  • Sales Planning

  • Growth Strategies

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Manage sales transactions to maintain/increase program operating income, ensuring adherence to or improvement on program budgets.

  • Ensure program team activities align with customer expectations.

  • Expedite and close all open commercial issues, both internal and external.

  • Secure targeted business that meets organizational financial metrics.

  • Manage the 5-Year Sales Plan, including tracking business wins/losses, pursuing new opportunities, and strategizing for current business replacement.

  • Collaborate with the finance team on financial forecasts, long-range plans, and daily metric tracking.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • 10+ years of experience in a sales role within the automotive industry, supporting Japanese, European, and North American-based OEMs and Tier 1 Suppliers, ideally in the field of Interiors.

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with internal team members and external customers.

  • Extensive experience with automotive program management requirements and deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 10+ years of business-to-business sales experience, preferably within the Automotive Industry.

  • Expertise in account management with the ability to engage in technical discussions with customers/partners regarding product and application uses.

  • Willingness to travel (up to 50%) to visit manufacturing sites and customers.
