Summary & Qualifications:
Summary
The primary purpose of the Northwestern Michigan College Children's Choir (NMCCC) Program Assistant are to provide administrative support to the NMCCC Directors, assist NMCCC parents, coordinate parent volunteers, plan and organize fundraisers, and act as a liaison between NMCCC staff and parents. The NMCCC Program Assistant is an at-will, nine-month position, serving mid-August through mid-May. All NMCCC support personnel will receive regular performance reviews to ensure effectiveness and program cohesiveness.
Qualifications
Required
• Strong organizational skills • Ability to provide effective leadership and support for NMCCC rehearsals, performances, trips, meetings, fundraisers and tours. • Possess the inter-personal skills necessary to interact with children, parents, and co-workers • Bachelor's degree or one to two years of related experience and/or training • Computer skills, including knowledge of and the ability to use the Internet, email, and appropriate software
Preferred:
• An educational background and experience in Arts Management and/or Arts Education • An established record of successful performance in Arts Management and/or Arts Education
Essential Responsibilities
• Be present and available at rehearsals to answer questions, collect paperwork, sell logo wear, etc. • Be present and available at all dress rehearsal and performances. • Communicate and coordinate the Cantus Tour with Artistic Director. • Coordinate the school tour. • Ensure auditions are organized and assist families through the process. • Communicate with parents regularly regarding fundraisers, to answer questions, and impart other important information. • Manage NMCCC database. • Ensure NMCCC website is updated. • Coordinate the Learning, Enrichment, and Athletic Program (LEAP). • Develop calendar of events including fundraisers, casual uniform sales, uniform distribution, uniform fittings, etc. • Coordinate volunteer and direct volunteers during NMCCC events. • Order and maintain inventory of formal and casual uniforms. • Organize fundraiser programs • Assure that established procedures for counting, recording and depositing of money are followed • Other duties may be assigned

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram
