Arconic Inside Sales Representative in Tracy, California

Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for an Inside Sales Representative in our Inside Sales – Customer Service Department. The Inside Sales Representative will perform all customer service activities and at least one significant additional responsibility, such as Consignment Administrator, International / Latin America Customer Service, and major customer liaison. This position will be based in our Tracy, CA plant.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Receives, enters and edits sales orders and changes thereto.

  • Answers general inquiries concerning open orders including expediting delivery and tracing shipments.

  • Answers verbal and written requests for quotations.

  • Processes requests for technical information, sales literature, material certification and returned material.

  • Uses knowledge of product, availability and customer need to best fill the order.

  • Checks stock for customers and distributors.

  • Advises Marketing Department and field sales representatives of significant information learned in customer correspondence.

  • Ensures that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.

  • Researches customer charge-backs and administers appropriate actions.

  • Administers and provides direction in a specialized area: EDI, JIT/consignment, International/Latin America, etc. and/or takes full liaison responsibility for a major complicated industry/customers (Ex. Automotive-GM, Ford etc.).

  • Communicates effectively with all levels of personnel and customers.

  • Ensures that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.

  • Researches customer charge-backs and administers appropriate actions.

  • Communicates effectively with all levels of personnel and customers.

  • Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Arconic Guide to Business Conduct.

  • Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to learn manufacturing principles and techniques.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Must be able to read, write in standard English and perform mathematical calculations.

  • Thorough knowledge of product.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Organizational skills.

  • Computer literate, with emphasis in Excel.

  • Solid problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum three years’ experience in customer service or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
