The Job:
As a Lead Category Manager, Reporting to the Enterprise Lead – IT Strategic Sourcing, the Lead Category Manager – IT Services is a highly strategic role in the Global Indirect Supply Management team. You will be hybrid to Towson, MD or New Britain, CT. To be successful in this role, this leader will drive the IT Services (Staff Augmentation and Consulting) journey for SBD globally working with the goal of consolidating all spend with our preferred key strategic supplier(s) with a focus on high speed execution. This role will work with multiple internal C-level executives within our IT organization and supply chain leaders, finance and communications leaders to institute significant change within SBD.
This role will also be responsible for overseeing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) value creation for these categories through a combination of productivity, quality, innovation, service excellence, risk management and margin resiliency. You’ll get to:
Partner with the stakeholders to develop and implement global sourcing strategies for IT Services subcategories delivering value against productivity, working capital, service, quality and Innovation
Conduct strategic spend analytics to identify opportunities for Value delivery
Responsible for managing the relationship and setting expectations with our Information Technology partners
Negotiate high spend value contracts with our key strategic suppliers by working with internal stakeholders
Supplier selection and negotiation process globally for all categories
Track Supplier performance within each applicable spend category
Build sustainable business partnerships with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers
Keeps informed of market and industry trends/developments – technical, risk, commercial, or otherwise – as they relate to the different technology products available in the marketplace
Reduce Tail Spend by pushing more spend to our key preferred strategic suppliers
Drive value through supplier relationship management (SRM)
Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws
Ability to joggle effectively priorities and practice multi-tasking in time sensitive environment
Tools (Preferred): Sievo (Spend Analytics), Ariba, Salesforce, Contract Lifecycle Management tool (ICERTIS preferred)
The Person:

A Bachelor’s degree. MBA preferred.
CPSM or ISM certification preferred.
5 to 10 years of strategic sourcing with experience driving change within large globally dispersed matrixed organizations
2 to 5+ years of IT Services (Staff Augmentation, IT Consulting etc.) specific category experience
Proven experience developing, selling and implementing category strategies in a matrixed large organization environment
Change leader - ability to adapt to changing conditions and identify creative solutions that add value, even when under pressure and/or when faced with complex ambiguous situations
Depth of experience in managing third party relationships
Demonstrated ability to manage complex commercial and contractual (incl. understanding of key contract clauses) negotiations and ongoing supplier performance management/scorecards.
Experience in advanced sourcing techniques and tools, and supplier management
Proficiency in conducting market analysis, cost modeling and financial risk management
Strong positive attitude and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate, connect, collaborate, and desire to delight stakeholders with excellent service at all levels, particularly at the C-level, VP and Director levels
Influencing without direct authority while being comfortable with conflict of opinions with a demonstrated track record of positive and constructive outcomes
Ability to be a self-starter, someone who’s not afraid to ruthlessly prioritize, and multi-task effectively
Must be able to travel 20% of the time.

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $93,400 to $168,100 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
