What You Can Expect

As a Site Sourcing Leader m/w, you will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services through the supply chain supporting the implementation of commodity strategies and the management of supplier relationships. Areas of responsibility could include price negotiation, managing delivery schedules in line with demand plan and preparing reports for senior management.

How You Will Create Impact

  • Ensure that all activities are in compliance with company policies and practices.

  • Develop and support supply chain strategies to combine flexible, high levels of customer service at optimum cost.

  • Influence customers and suppliers to create integrated supply chain solutions.

  • Manage departmental budget.

  • Maintain procurement files ensuring high standards of master data accuracy.

  • Ensure Supplier compliance in meeting Zimmer Biomet standards.

  • Process and evaluate invoice queries and taking appropriate action to resolve them.

  • Liaise with European/Global procurement team establishing understanding of cross functional commodity requirements, analysing costs, logistics, quality and user needs to prepare recommendations for centralized procurement of commodity. Manage resource to ensure support of above.

  • Create and manage KPI. Work to achieve relevant KPI requirements to ensure delivery within indicated parameters.

  • Prepare analytical reports, forecast as required for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collect, analyse, and communicate data in order to influence decision makers in such areas as make vs. buy, lease vs. purchase, and long term contracts.

  • Anticipate issues which may impact Zimmer during the course of business, fluctuating markets or contracts and addresses those issues effectively.

  • Identify and assess problems, collect information, and develop alternatives and create mitigation plans for adverse issues.

  • Define, delegate, and level responsibilities within team environment. Coordinate work efforts when necessary. Measure performance of team against established goals.

  • Accurately assess strengths and development needs of employees.

  • Use metrics and formal performance feedback meetings to drive supplier performance improvement and provide “voice of the site” feedback on suppliers to Category Managers.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Working knowledge of planning and purchasing systems, the manufacturing process (from raw materials to finished product), accounting principles and budgeting practices, inventory control and paperwork flow necessary to be able to function responsibly in this position. Knows the criteria, process and tools for measuring and recording purchasing performance.

  • Ability to quickly and accurately generate action requirements based on ERP System outputs.

  • Spreadsheet skills and proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP systems experience required to support procurement decision making.

  • Must be a self-starter, self-managed, effective team player with excellent analytical / problem solving skills.

  • Ability to engage in basic contract negotiations and develop contracts in standard form; create basic project plans and manage source plan and implementation across functions and sites.

  • Ability to analyse and evaluate quotations submitted by potential suppliers to assure that the quality, quantity, delivery terms, and costs are acceptable.

  • Excellent communication skills required with the ability to communicate appropriately with all levels (able to communicate equally well with all employees, internal and external to the company, including supplier senior management).

  • Must have the ability to handle complex problems, make sound decisions and work independently under the pressure of a heavy workload with significant time restrictions.

What Will Make You Successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Finance, Engineering or related fields) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5 + years of working experience in Supply Chain and/or Operations and/or Procurement / Sourcing

  • Ability to perform objectives / projects on time, working within team environment and autonomously when need arises to deliver results for the business

  • Understands legal aspects of purchasing, including contract law, with some international experience.

  • Understands all standard purchasing practices and techniques (market knowledge, data analysis, cost management, negotiations, contract formation, etc.) through extensive experience.

  • Demonstrates ability to provide clear direction and priorities throughout team.

  • Demonstrates principled leadership, sound business ethics and is consistent among principles, values, and behaviour.

  • Strong team skills and the ability to act as key facilitator with operations and suppliers to affect change within the sourcing category

  • Advanced knowledge of planning and purchasing systems; Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and budgeting practices.

  • Effective analytical, organizational, and communication skills (English) are required. German will be valued.

  • Strong IT Skills (MS Office, ERP- Systems – SAP as a plus)

  • Liaise with all levels of departmental staff in order to facilitate good communication links to provide smooth transference of data and ensure accuracy of information

  • External contact required with relevant supplier base ensuring professional image of company always presented
