Overview
THE ROLE:
The Sr Principal Enterprise Architect ensures Herbalife technology landscape is in alignment with the overall strategy. Herbalife is looking for an enterprise architect, technologist, and security enthusiast with experience in cloud, infrastructure, application, and security architecture in a sophisticated multi cloud and on-premise landscape.
The Technologist Enterprise Architect will interface and collaborate across all business areas, acting as ambitious to proactively assist in defining the direction for new projects and future initiatives. They conceive strategies, build solution designs, build consensus, and ensures implementation is following standard methodologies. They are involved from the initial kickoff through the requirement's analysis, design and implementation. They are also involved in analyzing architectural difficulties and provide recommendations for remediation.
Additional responsibilities include the establishment of the overall architectural viewpoints and the establishment and oversight of organization standards and policies. They identify major system architecture components, integrations, data flows, business capabilities, and gaps and existing architecture weaknesses and opportunities for systems and environments.
The Technologist Architect is also responsible for educating and encouraging others on architectural standards, principles, methodology and trends. Enterprise Architects are encouraged to mentor and coach less experienced staff and provide knowledge transfer across the organization. The Senior Principal Architect offers mentorship, strategic direction, and established guidelines for the team.
As this role progresses, this role will address more management responsibility and serve as an advisor to Herbalife on architecture for technology solutions, providing technical leadership across the organization, from top-line decision making down to the project planning level.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
Core Responsibilities:
Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security Design:
Lead the enterprise architecture design for Data center migration to clouds
Collaborating with multi-functional teams to craft and optimize enterprise solutions.
Design systems for scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery
Evaluating services, workloads, and system performance for both cloud and on-prem solutions
Support the network engineering team in defining the network architecture
Security Architecture:
Assisting in the development of an enterprise security architecture framework that aligns with business needs.
Analyzing the current technology environment to identify deficiencies and recommending solutions.
Staying informed about emerging security technologies and trends and applying them where appropriate.
Improving Planning and Performance:
Ensuring infrastructure resources meet business demands through effective planning.
Provide technical guidance for tuning network components for optimal performance and reliability.
Documentation and Compliance:
Creating solution documentation and designs for infrastructure and network configurations.
Ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) and internal policies.
General Responsibilities:
Develop highly available and resilient solution architectures including systems engineering, network engineering, multi-region and multi-account design strategies with strong security focus with boundary protection, data protection, enterprise grade management services with strong operational SLA’s.
Collaborate with other architects to drive a consistent approach to infrastructure, security, and cloud adoption across Herbalife.
Thought Leadership:
Bring together and share architecture standard methodologies between teams and other technical leaders.
Explore and develop new technical skills to be an effective ambassador for Herbalife.
Drive creation and validation of non-functional requirements concerning items such as consistency, performance, security, resiliency etc.
Maintains repository of reference architecture blueprints.
Conducts periodic implementation review to examine whether solutions align with reference / blueprint architecture and suggest remediation/correction actions.
Advocate the communication of and alignment to defined architecture strategy and standards.
Stays up to date with the latest technology trends and industry standard methodologies.
Support design, development, and implementation of technical projects that span across multiple platforms.
Ensure integration and data security standards across platforms.
Supports Risk Management team on dependency and service continuity efforts.
Ensures performance across platforms and infrastructure.
Researches and recommends opportunities to accept new technologies. Analyzes the impact of implementing new technologies into the IT infrastructure. Proactively researches IT architecture standard processes and methodologies and resolves relevancy to the business organization. Participates in the life cycle planning of existing IT assets.
Assists Technical Architects, and Project Managers in matching technology services to specific business service and application development projects to ensure consistent use throughout the enterprise. Identifies and brings to bear opportunities across IT departments to ensure a consistent and efficient infrastructure framework.
Educates and guides engineers in the vision and use cases of specific solutions within the Architecture portfolio.
Develops and participates in the governance of Architecture principles and framework to assure compliance to the strategy and those exceptions are well justified and detailed through a formal waiver process. Analyzes the impact of exceptions and its effect on future IT and enterprise goals.
Use business requirements to identify, evaluate and present alternative design solutions which meet customer needs
Qualifications
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Design & Platform Engineering.
IT Operations (Hardware, Software, Data Center, Network, Security, ITSM) and Dev & IT automation (DevOps, NetOps, SecOps) Architecture.
Data centers operations and management.
Leading and reducing infrastructure technical debt.
Hands-on IT core Infrastructure experience (3-5 years) with:
Cloud Computing working with cloud platforms like Azure and GCP.
Linux & Windows servers and technologies.
Infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is crucial for optimizing resource utilization.
Containers and container management.
Continuous integration/deployment/Development.
Database architectures, ETL, BI, Sophisticated Analytics, HA (Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL).
Implementing IT Operations and Cloud Governance (Auditing, Log management, Policies, tagging, compliance).
Proficiency in network design, protocols (such as IPv4/IPv6, QoS, MPLS, and BGP), and infrastructure like LAN/WAN, SDN, and cloud networking.
The design of scalable, resilient architectures, plan for capacity, and consider disaster recovery and business continuity. Anticipating future growth and technological advancements ensures adaptability.
Proficiency in securing networks against threats, including knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
Familiarity with SDN concepts and implementation is valuable for modern network architectures.
Integrating cloud services into network designs.
Expertise in routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP
Expertise in designing scalable network layouts, and considering factors like duplication and fault tolerance.
Knowledge of VoIP protocols and implementation
DNS infrastructure design and management.
Hands-on IT security experience (3-5 years) :
Expertise in securing IT systems and understanding risk management principles.
In-depth knowledge of data security frameworks and standards.
Familiarity with various operating systems and virtualization technologies.
Ability to develop security architectures and designs for systems.
Hands-on experience in building and implementing security solutions.
Expertise with security tools such as firewalls, anti-virus software, and encryption1.
Design experience with platform implementations across Business, Application, Data, and Platform architecture.
Ability to work in both Agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
Good communication and project management skills.
Ability to research, understand and apply new technologies.
Solid ability to lead through influence.
Strong written communication skills.
Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, engineering management and developers.
Certificates / Training:
Relevant certifications in Networking (e.g., CCNA, CCNP), Infrastructure (e.g., MCSE, ISO), IT Service Management (ITIL), and security (e.g., CISSP, CISM)
Public cloud certification (Azure, GCP, or AWS)
Experience:
15+ years in IT and cybersecurity including infrastructure and cloud architecture related role
15+ years architecture and design experience with platform implementations across Business, Application, Data, and Platform architecture
Education:
Bachelors, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
