Senior Accounting Analyst Needed

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will perform additional reviews, validations, and pre-checks over high-risk financial areas, including complex accounting entries, critical account analyses, and management reports. You will also be involved in new control activities addressing emerging business transactions or new lines of business. This role requires performing month-end closing activities for certain NA subsidiaries, reviewing submissions, performing analytical analysis over operational results, and troubleshooting reporting challenges. Additionally, you will support and often lead business projects impacting accounting and financial reporting, collaborating with various units within the Department and broader Finance Business Unit for issue resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Perform additional reviews, validations, and pre-checks over high-risk financial areas.

  • Conduct month-end closing activities for certain NA subsidiaries.

  • Review submissions and perform analytical analysis over operational results.

  • Troubleshoot reporting challenges for NA entities and improve efficiencies in existing processes.

  • Lead and oversee business projects impacting accounting, financial reporting, and consolidated reporting.

  • Prepare reports and presentation materials to explain project status and effects on accounting activities.

  • Collaborate with various units within the Department and broader Finance Business Unit for financial reporting or compliance issue resolution.

  • Participate in projects impacting finance and accounting standardization activities, including automation and digital audit efforts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree with Major in Accounting

  • CPA highly preferred

  • Minimum 8 years of accounting/financial reporting compliance experience, including 4+ years in public accounting

  • Experience in business and/or finance implementation projects, preferably in a leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of automotive industry accounting or consumer markets industry preferred

  • Ability to research, interpret, document, communicate, and apply accounting guidance under IFRS and US GAAP

  • Technical accounting experience preferred

  • Managerial and project management experience

  • Experience in a multi-unit/parent-subsidiary organizational structure preferred

  • Experience in a SOX reporting environment

  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PPT)

  • Experience in process automation/financial system automation to drive efficiencies

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work environment with 2-3 days on-site and flexible start times between 9:00 am and 9:30 am. You will report to the Assistant Manager and have the opportunity for overtime.
