Robert Half Medical Scheduler in Torrance, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Scheduler in Torrance, California. This role involves working within the healthcare sector and handling high volume calls, scheduling patient appointments, and maintaining patient records.

Responsibilities:

• Fielding a high volume of calls and directing them to the appropriate department based on patient needs.

• Scheduling and re-scheduling patient appointments in a timely and efficient manner.

• Maintaining up-to-date and accurate patient records within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

• Assisting the Home Health department in managing patient inquiries and needs.

• Familiarizing oneself with medical terminology to accurately direct patients.

• Monitoring patient accounts and taking appropriate action when necessary.

• Ensuring the smooth operation of patient scheduling processes.

• Collaborating with other team members to provide high-quality patient care.

• Adapting to occasional weekend coverage as needed.

• Using the 'Daily Schedule' skill to manage and organize daily tasks effectively. Requirements • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Proficient in scheduling systems and software.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminologies.

• Familiarity with basic healthcare procedures.

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.

• Strong customer service skills.

• Experience in a healthcare setting would be an advantage.

• Ability to handle stressful situations and high volume workload.

• Familiarity with medical insurance policies.

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher degree from a recognized institution would be a plus.
