Amergis LPN/LVN School in Torrance, California

AmergisHealthcare is looking for School Setting LVNs/ LPNs for the 2023-2024 SchoolYear! Our team is looking to hire skilled Licensed Vocational Nurses/ LicensedPractical Nurses to work with students in the Los Angeles County and SanBernardino County areas offering full-time and part-time positions. In thisrole, you will work either 1:1 with a student or in the Health Office. We aimto learn more about you and your career goals and support you along the way. Pay Range:$33-$35/hr

Schedule: Full time or per diem. Mon-Fri (apprx 8am-3:30pm)

Responsibilities:

  • Develops policies, procedures, and work standards for school health program.

  • Monitors compliance of school health program with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies.

  • Initiates program changes as needed.

  • Manages program allotment efficiently.

  • Prepares health reports for supervisor, board of education, and health department.

  • Collaborates with other child-support agencies in designing and providing a school health program.

  • Negotiates professional and medical services essential to the school health program.

  • Provides first aid care and medically prescribed services.

  • Maintains security of school health supplies.

  • Instructs students in health education according to the state curriculum (K-12).

  • Serves as a resource person on health issues.

  • Provides staff development on health-related topics for school staff and volunteers.

  • Screens and conducts health appraisals for students and staff.

  • Provides follow-up evaluations on students as required.

  • Recommends corrective action where problems are identified.

  • Conducts home visits when appropriate.

  • Corresponds with parents on health needs of children.

  • Records immunizations, health findings, and other relevant information

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accreditedregistered, practical or vocational nursing program

  • Licensed as a LicensedPractical, Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing

  • One year of professionalexperience, preferred

  • Complies with acceptedprofessional standard and practice

  • Willingness to participate inskill advancement, if applicable

  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program

  • Current CPR

  • PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (percontract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state andlocal requirements

  • Successful completion of newhire training as applicable to job site

  • Understand patientconfidentiality and HIPAA requirements

  • Ability to effectivelyelicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, butnot limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communicationskills; proficiency in the English language may be required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
