The Business Analytics & Insights team is part of the Procurement Process & Capabilities organization and focuses on leading capabilities that enable Procurement to drive fast and accurate decision-making through data transparency, E2E data control and advanced analytics. This mission enables our teams to turn intelligence into action and deliver incremental value to our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy a comprehensive data strategy to elevate the data management practices that meet internal standards and comply with external regulations.

  • Assist in establishing a procurement data governance framework, including definition of roles and responsibilities, operating model, key standards, and policies to ensure cohesive accountability in governing data from its source to consuming applications.

  • Partner with SMEs in business processes and data to efficiently ingest and curate procurement data within the designated technological infrastructure. Ensure seamless integration with other relevant sources of high-value procurement data assets when necessary.

  • Identify and consolidate overarching processes, data definitions and data procurement protocols applicable to all Procurement stakeholders.

  • Work closely with the data stewards across segments and functions to provide guidance, ensuring that Business and Technical Stewards are working effectively.

  • Communicate data governance progress, achievements, risks and issues across Procurement and Segment teams where necessary; execute appropriate mitigations in collaboration with data partners.

  • Support definition of procurement data strategy framework, including establishing a common data model for procurement, instantiation of data asset ownership, operating model, key standards, and policies leading to connected accountability to govern data from source to consuming applications.

  • Identify overarching policies and standards for data governance across the procurement landscape to ensure consistency and integrity.

  • Support cross-functional alignment and deployment of data governance guidelines for the appropriate use of data assets in key platforms.

  • Ensure alignment and sharing of processes, data definitions, report definitions, and procurement data profiles across stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field required; advanced degree preferred; relevant experience may be substituted when appropriate; additional certifications a plus.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in any combination of these areas: Data Strategy and Management, Data Science/Analytics, Information/Data Analysis, Intelligent Automation

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with applications and/or data in Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, or Manufacturing industry

  • Proven record of leading digital strategy and implementation in a complex, global organization

  • Deep understanding of data management principles, notably data governance, data quality & architecture

  • Experience in procurement, IT, R&D, manufacturing and/or related area required.

  • Experience with eliciting business requirements working with business SMEs and data stewards

  • Adaptability and flexibility to evolving responsibilities and changing environment.

  • Advanced ability to communicate with external and internal stakeholders effectively and productively.

  • Strong skills in cross-boundary collaboration, interdependent partnering and influencing are a must.

  • Ability to make decisions by seeking out and maintaining trusting and collaborative relationships to meet business needs and demands.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Sourcing & Procurement data/applications in J&J or peer industry is a distinct advantage

  • Knowledge of data technologies, platforms (ex: MS Azure) and data-centric automation tools (Ex: Alteryx)

  • Awareness of challenges involved in assimilating critical data generated from disperse source systems

  • Experience of managing and delivering projects, and familiarity with Project Management tools preferred

  • Understanding of Agile development and HPT methodology

Other:

  • This position is anticipated to have at least 10% travel

  • The salary for this position, if based within the United States, is anticipated to be between $115,000 and $185,000

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
