Job Description

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for working closely with project sponsors to deliver enhanced reporting standards and operational efficiency for the business group.

This individual will be accountable for preparing and modelling data, creating visualizations, analyzing information, and managing Power BI assets to ensure projects accurately reflect our stakeholder requirements.

The successful candidate must communicate clearly, think strategically, be creative, solve problems, pay close attention to detail, and be a team player!

What You Will Do

The Senior Data Analyst will manage end-to-end project work assignments to deliver best in class reporting solutions.

In this position, the Senior Data Analyst will:

  • Profile, clean, and transform raw data into trustworthy and meaningful information.

  • Ensure data integrity standards by identifying and correcting variances in source data.

  • Implement and oversee data governance policies by setting standards for data quality.

  • Manage user profile groups and maintain object/row level security assignments.

  • Provide actionable insight by creating well-designed tabular model structures.

  • Monitor dataset refresh schedules and troubleshoot gateway/connection failures.

  • Optimize performance of tabular models and custom measure calculations.

  • Promote best practices for designing data models, optimizing M code, and writing DAX.

  • Create stunning visualizations that help decision makers solve business problems.

  • Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and BI solutions.

  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate report information, patterns, and trends.

  • Improve current dashboard reporting by integrating Power BI AI capabilities.

  • Manage distribution and sharing of report publications, dashboards, and datasets.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to convert their requirements into business solutions.

  • Extract, transform and analyze data from databases and data warehouses using SQL.

  • Build Power BI dataflows using multiple sources for seamless data extraction and ingestion.

  • Leverage AI techniques to enhance analytics and uncover hidden patterns in datasets.

  • Derive insights from complex datasets using advanced statistics and machine learning.

  • Implement and maintain documentation for data models, calculations, and reports design.

  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for implementing data-driven process improvement.

  • Provide mentorship, training, and professional development for junior data analysts.

What You Will Bring

  • Legally entitled to work full-time in Canada and able to travel to the United States.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science.

  • 2-3 years of demonstrated work experience as a Data Analyst or equivalent.

  • Solid understanding of Business Intelligence tools including Microsoft Power BI.

  • Strong knowledge of DAX for writing complex and optimized query calculations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and advanced knowledge in Excel.

  • Mastery of advanced analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R)

  • Familiarity with cloud platform technology such as Snowflake and Microsoft Azure.

  • Proven domain area expertise with ability to manage large stakeholder groups.
